This Website is just all sorts of AWESOME! I’ve never actually seen something like it yet. It’s super interactive and playful, but at the same time very professional. What I really like about this website is that it is very interactive but its so simple. The navigation is nicely placed in the bottom left corner to make it very accessible for people viewing. Then their is basically a giant white background with a large wheel of images that you can rotate. Upon selecting an image the wheel is wiped away and you are left with the stand alone image. very cool! http://www.dotedesign.com/

Well obviously this designer is very big on illustration. Overall the site is pretty much made up of a massive pile of images, which was layed-out nicely and is a great display of this artists work. Simple navigations at the top of the screen make it easy to guide you around his site. Check it out http://www.justinmaller.com/showcase.html

A fun website for a design firms portfolio, I really like the rasta colors they used and how the incorporated the lines of color. They make a very nice separation between the navigation and the content screen.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Backcountry.com. They are an awesome online distributer that sells outdoor gear. For an online retailer, I really enjoy their website layout as well as the identity they have, The Goat, is a fun and creative design. The site is very easy to find exactly what your looking for and they also have a lot of interactive features such as reviews and online chats to help answer question and concerns.

well, you’ve seen some of the good. but then there is the “Maybe this could use a little work” kind of websites. allgraphicdesign.com is a pretty good website when it comes to finding tutorials, templates, and other design related resources. But the problem I have with the site is their is so much advertising going on and I really feel like the site can be restructured to function much better. Like for example not opening a new window every time you select a link anywhere on the website or simplifying the color scheme to more modern colors. But like I said the site is still a great resource for someone in virtually any design field.

Treehugger.com, A pretty big change from the simple and elegant websites that I have posted about previously. This website throws a large amount of information out at you upon loading the site. But as far as design goes, i felt that they have done a pretty good job of organizing the mass amount of info while maintaining consistency. They have a appropriate color scheme and nice typographic treatments. In each of the navigation categories they have broken up the sections to make it easier to find what your looking for and when you enter each section you are given up-to-date articles and postings. This site is very user friendly in my opinion.

I happen to stumble upon this website today and thought it was pretty interesting. It appears to be an online magazine produced in the United Kingdom, they say that they are an ever evolving platform for art, music, and fashion. Overall, I thought the site was pretty interesting, I enjoyed the layout quite a bit. The large heading at the top of the page is what caught my eyes right away and the subtle navigation next to it was nice. When you choose a category such as art the layout slightly changes to a column of a large thumbnail with a small caption next to it to lead you into the article. Have a look http://www.touristmagazine.co.uk

wearethemasses.com, a website in which directors and artist that are united by their passion for music. I love this site because of its very clean aesthetic and easy navigational system. The simple black and white usage is absolutely beautiful along with the nice mix of imagery.

Simple Shoes has been one of my favorite shoe companies for a long time. All of their products are made from recycled and environmentally friendly materials. It comes as no surprise to me that their website www.simpleshoes.com is very well done. Its very easy to navigate through for shoppers and visually pleasing to the eye. The homepage slides are a very nice mix of image and sans-serif type. I feel like they have used to white space to their advantage on the site. The color palette of mainly greens and blues are very nice as well.

FormFiftyFive, One of my favorite online sources for getting design inspiration. It is absolutely jam-packed with design of all types from Web design to Architecture. Its updated almost daily with new content. If you haven’t checked this site out GO THERE my fellow designers. www.formfiftyfive.com
